Diversity Attitudes
Scenario 1

Suzanne has applied for a job with the Brazilian division of the global company for which she works. She is a long-serving employee of the company, having always worked at the international headquarters building in New York. Suzanne has been told that she is a short-listed candidate, and has been asked to fly to São Paulo for an interview with the country manager there (who is a Brazilian male). Suzanne is aware that there are cultural differences between the two countries, and wants to make the right impression. How should she approach the interview?
Choose a response:
Suzanne decides to wear a skirt to the interview in São Paulo. She is aware that pant suits/trouser suits are not as commonly worn in Brazilian workplaces. Suzanne does not want her choice of attire to in any way detract the country manager from the interview itself.
Suzanne feels confident about this opportunity, and is proud of her years of tenure at the company's global headquarters. She routinely wears a pant suit/trouser suit at work. Suzanne chooses to do so for the interview, as that is what she would do if it were taking place in New York.
